Sunrise Trail
Pomquet is 10 km. east of Antigonish, Nova Scotia. There are two exits (35 & 36) from the Trans Canada Highway (104) to the village of Pomquet on the Sunrise Trail.

Our Historic Acadian Village.

Take a tour through our Historic Village and learn about our first settlers in the region,  Doiron, Duon, Broussard, Vincent and Lamarre, which dates back to 1774.
Come see how we celebrate our Acadian heritage and culture with festivals and reunions.

Pomquet BeachIf you choose to spend some time in our village, you have a choice of Accommodations, hotels, B&B, cottages. From there, you can go golfing, canoeing, swimming, visit Fortress Louisbourg or drive around our famous Cabot Trail.

A Bit of History
The French presence in this region dates back from 1774 when the families Doiron, Duon, Broussard, Vincent and Lamarre established here. Between 1789 and 1792, the founding families were joined by Acadian families with the names Boudreau, Landry, and Melanson.
